Our special friend, Jim Watkins, is a long-time student of The Urantia Book.
Jim was gracious enough to do a two-part interview with Gabriel Rymberg and the Discover Jesus app team on his URANTIA RADIO podcast. Part 1 of the interview featured the UX team and Part 2 of the interview included some members of the Data Curation team.
Jim writes:
I started doing my podcast about The Urantia Book in 2017 because I wanted to express my deep appreciation for the book and share it with others on a platform that was just starting to grow (podcasting). Each week I discuss a topic relevant to one section of the book.
Knowing that many new readers might find the podcast by sampling typing Urantia Podcast, it is very easy to find on the internet, and many of the people I hear from tell me they are either new readers or have been reading it for a long time, and that they enjoy just having a nice conversation about the book.
Because I have some radio broadcasting experience, I am able to use a lot of tools that make it more interesting than just reading a specific paper or stating a bunch of facts. Instead, I try to tell a story with each podcast that would be interesting even if you knew nothing about The Urantia Book.
I think that is a good approach to sharing the revelation. In other words, I don’t preach, I teach. I also try to bring in other students of the revelation and talk about what is going on in the global Urantia Community. I think this helps create a community atmosphere, and it shows more and more people are discovering the book.
People can listen by simply going to UrantiaRadio.net, or they can search on most search sites Urantia Radio Podcast and all kinds of podcast platforms will pop up. I made sure it was on as many platforms as possible. I also encourage people to share a podcast if they link it on their social media or send a link to a friend.
Here are links to Spotify, Google and iTunes, and it is also on Amazon, TuneIn and about a dozen other podcast platforms. Listen on Spotify, Google Podcasts or iTunes/Apple.
