“Time and space are a conjoined mechanism of the master universe. They are the devices whereby finite creatures are enabled to coexist in the cosmos with the Infinite.” 118:9.1 (1303.2)
Time and space are often experienced as limitations—constraints that define our mortality, our waiting, and our distance from one another. Yet this teaching reveals them as divine instruments rather than cosmic obstacles. They are not accidents of physics but purposeful frameworks designed to make finite life possible within an infinite reality.
Through time, growth becomes meaningful. Through space, individuality becomes distinct. These two dimensions allow beings like us to evolve, choose, learn, and relate without being overwhelmed by the immediacy of infinity. Time grants us patience; space grants us perspective. Together, they create a livable stage upon which finite personalities can gradually awaken to eternal truths.
Seen this way, time and space are not prisons—they are classrooms. They allow the Infinite to be encountered step by step, moment by moment, experience by experience. Our journey toward Godlikeness unfolds within these gentle boundaries, making coexistence with the Infinite not only possible, but beautifully attainable.
