The Sacred Power of Human Will

February 9, 2026 | Santiago Kneeland

Our choices shape our eternity - it's a wild freedom, and a huge responsibility 😊.

The Sacred Power of Human Will

“As pertains to eternal survival, God has decreed the sovereignty of the material and mortal will, and that decree is absolute.” 5:6.8 (71.3)

This statement affirms one of the most profound dignities granted to humanity: the sovereignty of personal will. In matters of eternal destiny, God does not coerce, override, or manipulate the human choice. Survival beyond mortality is not imposed by divine power; it is determined by the individual’s free and conscious decision to embrace spiritual growth and divine guidance.

Here, divine love reveals its deepest respect for personhood. God offers truth, grace, and unending opportunity—but never forces acceptance. The mortal will stands as the gatekeeper of eternity. What we choose to value, trust, and pursue shapes not only our present character, but our everlasting future.

This truth transforms life into a meaningful arena of decision. Every moral choice, every act of faith, every sincere commitment becomes part of an unfolding eternal story. The sovereignty of the will is both a gift and a responsibility: we are free to refuse growth, but we are also empowered to choose life, truth, and enduring spiritual destiny.
