“We are a part of a gigantic creation, and it is not strange that everything does not work in perfection; our universe was not created in perfection. Perfection is our eternal goal, not our origin.” 75:8.6 (846.5)
Perfection is not where we begin — it’s where we’re headed. The universe itself is in process, learning, evolving, creating. To expect flawlessness from ourselves or the world is to misunderstand the nature of divine life. We were not born finished; we were born unfolding.
This is not failure — it’s design. Growth is the proof of divine intention. Every delay, every misstep, every seeming imperfection is the friction through which potential becomes reality. The Creator’s love doesn’t demand that we arrive; it invites us to become. In this way, divine affection is the great teacher of patience — the calm assurance that even the rough edges of our experience are being shaped by eternal hands.
To live in the grace of becoming is to stop judging your progress by perfection’s standard and start seeing it through the Creator’s eyes: process, courage, sincerity. Each act of truth, beauty, and goodness is a step toward the infinite. We are not mistakes trying to be fixed; we are souls learning to shine.
