“To God there is no past, present, or future; all time is present at any given moment. He is the great and only I AM.” 2:1.5 (34.4)
Time shapes every human experience. We remember the past, we live in the present, and we wonder about the future. Much of our joy comes from cherished memories, while many of our worries come from imagining what has not yet happened. We are creatures bound by the steady rhythm of time. But this extraordinary revelation lifts our eyes beyond our limited perspective. God does not move through history as we do. He is not waiting for tomorrow or looking back on yesterday. Every moment of existence is fully known to Him in one eternal and perfect awareness. He is, forever and always, the great I AM.
Far from making God seem distant, this truth makes Him wonderfully present. The Father is never caught by surprise, never forced to revise His plans, and never overwhelmed by unfolding events. The challenge that feels uncertain to us has already been embraced within His infinite wisdom. The prayer we whisper today is heard by the One who already sees the complete story of our lives. This does not mean our choices are insignificant or that our future is predetermined. Rather, it means that while we walk through time step by step, the Father lovingly accompanies us with complete knowledge of where every path can lead. His guidance is not based on guesswork—it flows from perfect understanding.
There is deep comfort in living with this perspective. We often become trapped by regrets over yesterday or anxieties about tomorrow, forgetting that life with God is always lived in the present. The Father's grace is never delayed until the future, nor exhausted by the past. It meets us exactly where we are. Every moment becomes an opportunity to trust, to love, and to respond to His leading. While we cannot change yesterday and cannot yet live tomorrow, we can fully embrace the gift of this moment, knowing it is held securely in the hands of the Eternal One.
Perhaps this is why Jesus so often called people to trust rather than worry. The One who holds all time also holds your life. The future that seems uncertain to you has never been outside His loving care. And the God who is the great I AM is present with you—not only at the beginning and the end of your journey, but in every faithful step along the way.
