By saying yes to that first opportunity, I opened the door to a life of discovery, connection, and service.

Special Friends of CFU – Line St-Pierre

This month we're sharing the ministry efforts of one of our special friends and CFU supporters, Line St. Pierre. It is not often that we find a woman so accomplished and devoted to the revelation. Line is a lovely person and we hope you will take time to read about her spiritual journey, and how she is currently serving. She has quite a story to tell!

Inspiring to Be and to Do: A Call to Service and Love

One valuable lesson I’ve learned over the past 25 years is never to underestimate the abilities and talents I’ve been entrusted with. Too often, I doubted my capacity to accomplish a task or fulfill a role I had never imagined for myself due to a lack of confidence and self-esteem.

Each responsibility I’ve accepted over the years has always prepared me for a greater role or responsibility.

I’ve had the privilege of exploring and growing spiritually through the teachings of The Urantia Book via experiences that profoundly transformed me. This journey—marked by travels, meetings, projects, and challenges—has taught me that love and service are the cornerstones of a meaningful and fulfilling life. The revelators remind us:

"There is in the mind of God a plan which embraces every creature of all his vast domains, and this plan is an eternal purpose of boundless opportunity, unlimited progress, and endless life." (32:5.7)

What if every opportunity for service presented to me was part of this divine plan? A gentle nudge, an invitation to rise to a challenge and step out of my comfort zone? How can I hope to grow morally and spiritually without experiences that require me to transcend myself?

In July 2000, I faced such an opportunity. My husband was attending his first Urantia Association International (UAI) conference in Staten Island, New York, and he encouraged me to join him. At the time, I didn’t feel connected to The Urantia Book, and my discomfort was amplified by the idea of meeting so many knowledgeable individuals—it was his thing, not mine. I had decided not to go until he persuaded me by suggesting that I could explore the city while he attended the sessions.

The Power of Saying Yes: Growing Through Service and Challenges

With this perspective, I agreed. Loving my husband and wanting to support his spiritual work—he was the president of our local association and sought to take readers beyond the intellectual side of the book—I decided to accompany him. To my surprise, upon arrival, I found the participants warm and welcoming! Curiosity led me to attend a few plenaries and workshops. Before long, I was swept up in the enthusiasm, camaraderie around the piano in the evenings, and the richness of the exchanges. And yes, I also took the time to explore New York!

That conference marked a turning point. Thanks to my husband’s presidency of the UAI from 2003 to 2013, and up until today, I’ve had the opportunity to attend over 30 conferences worldwide: in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Africa. I’ve been fortunate to meet thousands of people.

I must also mention the UAI virtual conference planned for Peru in 2021, which unfortunately didn’t occur due to the pandemic. Each conference brought extraordinary individuals into my life, many of whom became dear friends. These encounters enriched me and allowed me to forge deep connections with my spiritual family.

At the 2000 New York conference, we met Moussa Ndiaye, a Senegalese teacher. With just one copy of The Urantia Book, he had taught its concepts to over 800 Senegalese Muslims, five of whom had become teachers of the revelation themselves.

Starting in 2001, Moussa came to Quebec for a conference we organized. Six months later, my husband, a friend, and I traveled to Dakar, where we received three weeks of spiritual training, all based on the teachings of the blue book. In February 2002, my life changed—positively, and toward God. I like to say, "Paul fell off his horse, and Line fell off her high heels!"

Since then, nothing has been the same. My consciousness and heart opened, and I discovered the purpose of my life.

For the next ten years, I organized groups for spiritual training in progressive divine wisdom and accompanied Moussa during his travels in Canada and the U.S. for these teachings. This training helped people become more aware of themselves and God’s presence within them. It was an enriching experience, not only for the hundreds who participated but also for me, who attended every class Moussa taught.

Today, these classes are offered online. For more information, visit the Progressive Divine Wisdom School website, which includes an English section: http://www.sagessedivine.com.

In between, I translated hundreds of texts from English to French, including newsletters like Tidings, which I managed in the early 2000s. I also translated resources such as Parenting for Values by Kaye Cooper and books like Rick Warren’s early works.

In 2012, I was invited to join the Urantia Foundation Board of Trustees as an Associate Trustee. This unexpected nomination led me to question: What did I have to offer? I turned to the Education Committee, where I explored ideas and applied lessons learned from the Progressive Divine Wisdom teachings.

This role inspired the creation of the Daughters of God in 2013, an initiative encouraging women to engage with The Urantia Book. This project, developed with collaborators like Doreen Heyne, Katharina Becker, and Carolyn Prentice, offered retreats themed "Dancing with God." It provided women a sacred space to explore their spiritual lives, honor unique journeys, and foster personal relationships with God.

The next retreat will be at The Urantia Foundation in Chicago, September 11–14, 2025. http://www.sisterhoodcircle.net

Daughters of God – Dancing with God Retreats
Daughters of God Mission: To enhance the status of being a woman dedicated to spiritual growth, intellectual advancement and moral progress. Vision: To touch women's hearts by exploring the dignity of being Daughters of God by honoring their value and importance, and by cooperating with the divine spirit within to bring forth the beautiful fruits of the spirit.

One of the Peruvian participants at our retreats invited me to Máncora, Peru, to share my growth experiences and the values that inspire me with two women’s groups she had formed.

This opportunity further solidified my commitment to acquiring tools that would help me better share the incomparable teachings of Jesus.

In 2019, I enrolled in The Master’s Ministry course at the School of Ambassadors. This course enables us to acquire the knowledge and techniques to better share the teachings contained in the life of Jesus in discussions with biblical scholars or anyone else wishing to discuss them. Rather than focusing on the intellectual grasp of the book's concepts, the course emphasized becoming a steadfast second mile servant, modeling Jesus’ approach to sharing truth.

During the program’s evaluation, I expressed my belief that this course was an invaluable resource—one that every student of The Urantia Book should consider. I also highlighted the critical need to translate this course into multiple languages—French, Spanish, and Portuguese—to make its wisdom accessible to thousands of South American readers and the broader Francophone community.

Zshonette Reed, the course designer, immediately recognized this need and asked if I would translate it into French. Enthusiastically, I took on the challenge. I translated the course content, recorded video lessons with my husband, and created audio versions. I also translated and integrated all the course material into the online platform. Since 2022, I’ve served as the site administrator and facilitator, helping make these teachings accessible to an ever-growing audience. https://school.thechristexperiment.org

Too often, my service happens in front of my computer. To balance this, in September, I volunteered for friendship visits—spending time with individuals who are alone, engaging in conversations, playing cards, or taking walks.

In mid-November, I had my first two-hour weekly meeting with Yvette, an 85-year-old blind woman who has been visually impaired for three years. A deeply religious person, Yvette knows the Bible inside out, reciting all the prophets from the 66 books and the four gospels by heart! I tread carefully, ensuring our discussions respect her faith while subtly connecting her insights to what I know.

Recently, a significant opportunity presented itself: I was honored to be invited to serve as the president of Urantia Association International https://urantia-association.org.

The association's mission is to promote the study of The Urantia Book and to spread its transformative teachings.

My term, which I was elected to, will begin on April 1, 2025, and span the next four years. During this time, I look forward to visiting various associations worldwide, connecting with their leaders, and engaging with students in their respective countries to support and strengthen our shared mission.

I am acutely aware that every role or function I’ve taken on has come gradually, step by step. When we pay attention, opportunities to serve are all around us.

Each responsibility I’ve accepted has brought unexpected but rewarding challenges. I firmly believe that by answering this inner call with faith and determination, we contribute to a divine purpose greater than ourselves.

I share this story to inspire others to listen to their inner call, trust themselves, serve others, and cultivate love in all aspects of life. As Jesus taught, in the simplicity of divine fatherhood and human brotherhood lies our true purpose.

By saying yes to that first opportunity, I opened the door to a life of discovery, connection, and service. Each step has helped me grow, refine my understanding of divine teachings, and strengthen my faith in this eternal plan of boundless opportunities.
