God-conscious Mortal

God-conscious Mortal

.

“The God-conscious mortal is certain of salvation; he is unafraid of life; he is honest and consistent. He knows how bravely to endure unavoidable suffering; he is uncomplaining when faced by inescapable hardship.” The Teachings of Jesus 156:5.20 (1740.7)

God-consciousness is knowing in your heart the existence of God. Not only that, its understanding that mortal life is a learning experience that brings both joy and suffering. That we must fully appreciate and fully live the moments of joy, for they will never come back. At the same time we must traverse the moments of suffering, trying to figure out how we can surpass them and what to learn from each one. "When you lose, don't lose the lesson."

When we accept God in our hearts we understand the dynamics of the universe. We know that mortal life isn't just joy and pleasure, it can't be, its design includes hardship so that we may become wiser and evolve. A God-conscious mortal understands this and does not curse God or the Universe. They instead thank the hardships, and rely on God to help them through them. For it is true; with God all is possible. It's really a liberating experience when we surrender our ego to the love of God and place our lives in his hands. We can feel his loving embrace and his understanding of our faults and failures. There is no shame, only a comforting love that fills us with faith.

When living life, we must always bear in mind that we are going through a quest; a mission. Just as each one of us has a unique personality, we all have a unique path. It may be similar to another person's path, but its unique to us. The more we live our lives true to that path, the more God-conscious we will be. The more loving our lives will be. The more fulfilled our lives will be. What if we don't know our path, you may ask? Well... that's the whole point of life; to discover our path through the loving guidance of the spirits that live within us.
