Editor's Note: I was contemplating Father's Day, and having lived through those days without my father in the past few years, its meaning is even more valuable. He was a wonderful man and father, and he is greatly missed by all of our family.
A dear friend wrote, saying, he works with traumatized men who had cruel fathers, so he successfully counsels them in spiritual truths by using the approach to deity through the 'Feminine Divine' or 'Mother Spirit' concept. We had a long conversation about it, and we agreed that both men and women can be cruel. They can also be wonderful role models of love, kindness, goodness, graciousness, and patience. I say if we hold the worthy men up as role models, it inspires new generations of worthy men and lifts civilization, eventually eliminating the dysfunction that pervades modern families.
The author of the last paper of The Urantia Book states in the very last closing sentences – the final word on the subject (at least for me): 'The Father is living love, and this life of the Father is in his Sons. And the spirit of the Father is in his Son's sons–mortal men. When all is said and done, the Father idea is still the highest human concept of God.'
As I look back on the nearly 5 full years The Center For Unity has been working together, I can think of many wonderful women that have contributed to our completed projects and have helped lay the foundations for our future goals, but something occurred to me recently when someone asked, 'When are you going to finish something?' We have finished many things already! Yes, we are constantly improving the websites, upgrading the technology, and adding new language translations, but we accomplished every goal we set out to accomplish in record time, with our limited resources. And we aren't finished yet! There remains a few unfinished big projects but we are working on those also.
It is because of so many dedicated, spirit-led, and task-driven men who have devoted their time, efforts, personal resources, and vision to CFU, that we have been able to complete so much. Men like Gabriel Rymberg, Rick Lyon, Santiago Kneeland, Mark Kurtz, Luis-Miguel Morales Urrea, Fraser Gorrie, Gary Tonge, Mike Robinson, Gregg Tomusko, Roland Siegfried, Rick Warren, Joel Garbon, Dan Donovan, André Radatus, and others, who embody all of the wonderful qualities mentioned above, while maintaining full lives being fathers, husbands, grandfathers, friends, co-workers, good citizens, and community leaders.
We could not have done it without each one of them...
